Terms of Service - Greenfield Pork Ltd
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of services by Greenfield Pork Ltd, a company operating in the pig livestock sector, with its registered business address at Greenfield Pork, Unit 4, Barnsley Road, Wombwell, Barnsley S73 8HJ, United Kingdom ("Greenfield Pork Ltd", "we", "us", or "our"). By enquiring about, ordering, engaging, or otherwise using any of our services, you ("Customer", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before placing any order or entering into any service arrangement with Greenfield Pork Ltd. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.
1. Introduction and acceptance of terms
These Terms apply to all services provided by Greenfield Pork Ltd, including but not limited to breeding stock supply, weaner pig sales, finisher pig supply, piglet rearing support, livestock transport coordination, on-farm welfare advice, and routine herd health monitoring.
By requesting a quotation, placing an order, accepting delivery, allowing access to your premises, or otherwise instructing us to proceed with any service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms. If you are acting on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Scope of services
Greenfield Pork Ltd may provide one or more of the following services, subject to availability, suitability, and any separate written agreement between the parties:
- Breeding stock supply;
- Weaner pig sales;
- Finisher pig supply;
- Piglet rearing support;
- Livestock transport coordination;
- On-farm welfare advice;
- Routine herd health monitoring.
We will use reasonable care and skill in providing our services. However, you acknowledge that livestock-related services are inherently affected by biological, environmental, operational, transport, biosecurity, and disease-related factors that may be outside our control.
Any descriptions, estimates, service timelines, weights, grades, herd performance figures, or recommendations provided by Greenfield Pork Ltd are given in good faith but do not constitute a guarantee unless expressly stated in writing.
3. User obligations and responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information relevant to the services requested;
- Ensure that your premises, facilities, staff, and systems are suitable and legally compliant for the reception, keeping, handling, transport, and care of pigs;
- Maintain appropriate licences, permissions, records, and biosecurity measures required for your operations;
- Comply with all applicable animal welfare, livestock movement, health and safety, environmental, disease control, and transport regulations;
- Follow any reasonable instructions, welfare guidance, quarantine measures, or biosecurity procedures communicated by Greenfield Pork Ltd;
- Inspect any livestock or other goods promptly on delivery and notify us of any issues without undue delay;
- Use all services and any advice provided by Greenfield Pork Ltd responsibly and in accordance with professional veterinary or regulatory guidance where applicable.
You are solely responsible for the care, housing, feeding, watering, treatment, and day-to-day management of livestock once transferred to your control, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You must not knowingly expose our staff, contractors, vehicles, equipment, or livestock to avoidable disease risks, unsafe conditions, unlawful treatment, or prohibited substances.
4. Payment terms and conditions
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, charges, or levies.
Payment terms will be set out in our quotation, invoice, or contract confirmation. If no specific terms are stated, payment is due in full within 14 days of the invoice date.
We reserve the right to require advance payment, deposits, staged payments, or payment on delivery, particularly where services involve livestock movement, breeding stock, or other higher-risk arrangements.
If payment is not received by the due date, we may:
- Suspend or cancel further services;
- Withhold delivery or release of livestock where lawful to do so;
- Charge interest on overdue sums at the statutory rate or such other rate as permitted by law;
- Recover reasonable debt recovery and enforcement costs.
You may not withhold, set off, or deduct payment unless required by law or expressly agreed by Greenfield Pork Ltd in writing.
5. Cancellation and refund policy
Any cancellation request must be submitted to Greenfield Pork Ltd in writing and will only take effect once acknowledged by us.
Because our services may involve livestock procurement, planning, transport coordination, biosecurity measures, and time-sensitive farm operations, cancellations may result in administrative, handling, transport, restocking, or other reasonable charges.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Deposits are non-refundable where costs have already been incurred or livestock has been reserved, handled, or allocated;
- Custom, urgent, or time-sensitive services may be non-cancellable once preparation has begun;
- Refunds will not be issued for issues arising from customer handling, management, housing, disease exposure after transfer, or non-compliance with our instructions;
- If Greenfield Pork Ltd cancels a service for reasons within our control, we will refund any prepayment for the affected service only, and such refund will be our sole liability, subject to any mandatory legal rights.
Where livestock has been supplied, refunds or replacements will only be considered where expressly agreed in writing, or where required by applicable law and supported by prompt notification and reasonable evidence.
6. Liability limitations
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Subject to the foregoing, Greenfield Pork Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, consequential, or special losses;
- Loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, business opportunity, goodwill, or production;
- Losses arising from disease outbreaks, mortality, stress, transport delays, market fluctuations, environmental conditions, or third-party acts or omissions;
- Any loss resulting from inaccurate information supplied by you;
- Any loss resulting from your failure to implement welfare, biosecurity, or husbandry recommendations;
- Any damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any service shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or such other amount as we may agree in writing.
You acknowledge that livestock is a biological product and that variability in health, growth, fertility, performance, and survival is inherent in the nature of the services provided.
